4th Annual China Luxury Summit

Anton presented at the 4th Annual China Luxury Summit on behalf of Egeneration Marketing in 2008. As was indicated at the conference, 2008 poses several significant challenges for the global luxury market. With the current economic turbulence encouraging conservative spending, the luxury goods market has been forced to reconsider the point of difference luxury goods offer as opposed to the cheaper, inferior goods. The conference emphasized that while the current global market presents volatility to the luxury market, several opportunities have sprung from the global events. China’s consumption demand for luxury shows 20% growth; and similarly by 2015, China’s consumption of luxury goods will rise from 12% to 29% by an estimated US $80 billion a year. To succeed in China’s luxury market, luxury operators need to recognize the burgeoning market opportunities in the region, and seek gaps in the market where they can leverage their brand.
